Blake Lively: The gossip on Hollywood's newest star

Long-limbed and coltish, Blake Lively is a textbook California blonde, the blogging era's Christie Brinkley. An overnight icon thanks to her role in Gossip Girl, she's athletic, wholesome and impossibly gorgeous. She's wearing high heels, a tight-fitting sweater and skinny charcoal jeans that make her look leaner and even taller than she is (5ft 10in); she towers with poise over everyone else.
In fact, it's only close up, once she sits down and relaxes on the sofa, that her age – she's just 20 – becomes obvious. Lively talks with a Valley Girl-ish openness, again betraying her blonde California roots. Indeed, given the verging-on-icy image she projects as a red-carpet regular, the stream-of-consciousness chatter is jarringly youthful.
In this case, though, it's an advantage, given that she is talking about her new film, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2. It's a sequel to the 2005 original, reuniting stars Lively, Amber (daughter of Russ) Tamblyn, onetime "Gilmore Girl" Alexis Bledel and America Ferrera, temporarily relieved of her mouthful of metal from Ugly Betty.
"Bridget is a free spirit, she doesn't ever connect herself to anything," Lively explains, noting how her character is exiled from her friends for much of the movie, first on an archaeological dig and then in an emotional reunion with her estranged grandmother (Blythe Danner). LIVELY INSPIRES PENN PERFORMANCE

Veteran actress ROBIN WRIGHT PENN was so impressed with her co-star BLAKE LIVELY's performance in an upcoming movie, she tried to imitate the young star's portrayal, reports ContactMusic.
Lively stars as young Pippa Lee in forthcoming film The Private Lives of Pippa Lee, while 42-year-old Penn plays Lee at a later stage in her life.
And Lively reveals that Penn decided to base her character on the Gossip Girl star - after being inspired by the 20-year-old's depiction of the repressed housewife in her early years. She says, "It's her character I'm playing, so we talked about it. I asked, 'Are there any Pippa tendencies you want to talk about?'
"But she said, 'What are you talking about? I saw your reading and copied you!'
"So I didn't have to worry about doing anything that Robin was doing."

Blake and America BFF's

Remember the funny video of Blake Lively and America Ferrera on a news show promoting their flick The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, HollywoodScoop reports.
If you don't, we can refresh your memory. The two were sitting side by side and talking about the movie they made together. Then the reporter had to ask Blake about the upcoming season of Gossip Girl. When Blake started talking about her hit TV show, America sort of dosed off. She just seemed really bored and over the interview.
Naturally, the media instantly thought there was some sort of beef between the two. Well, there isn't!
Blake wants us all to know that the two are BFF's. Lively says, "I haven't even heard about it. I don't ever pay attention to that stuff.
"She's one of my best friends in the whole wide world and honestly, when you're sitting in a room for three hours doing satellite interviews... We were staring at a Post-It (note) with a smiley face, so I think I probably rolled my eyes a hundred times. I'm like, Oh gosh, this thing is still going on?"

Gossip girl spoilers for season 2 straight from the cast’s mouth…

Spotted: the stars of the CW’s teen drama “Gossip Girl,” dishing details on the new season. MTV’s TRL went behind the scenes with Chace Crawford (Nate), Jessica Szohr (Vanessa), Leighton Meester (Blair), Ed Westwick (Chuck) and new boy Patrick Heusinger.
“The second season of ‘Gossip Girl’ - there’s so much drama coming up that you can’t even imagine,” says Szohr. “There’s a couple interesting things that happen with Chuck,” says Szohr. “I always find it funny because Chuck is such a bad boy character, and he ends up getting punched again.”
Szohr adds that Blair brings home a surprise - in the form of new “gossip boy” Marcus, played by Patrick Heusinger. Blair’s new boy does not necessarily mean that things are over between her and Chuck, though.
“We are about to shoot a scene between me and Ed [who plays Chuck]. It gets real steamy real fast,” says Meester. “He’s trying to seduce her. And he’s failing, but not for long.”
“Gossip Girl” returns for its second season on Sept. 1.

Lively: I love shooting 'Gossip' in NYC

Actress Blake Lively says one of her favorite things about her TV series "Gossip Girl" is that it is shot in New York City. "Just shooting in the city is such a wonderful (thing,)" she told reporters in Manhattan recently.
"Getting up so early in the morning, sometimes I think, 'Why am I doing a job that wakes you up at 3:30 in the morning?' But just getting to shoot on these beautiful cobblestone streets with the trees and it's just ... It's a magical place and it's a character in and of itself," she said. "It's so important. I don't think our show would work if it wasn't in New York. You know, some of my favorite movies are based here in New York. I just can't describe what I love about this city ... It makes me warm and fuzzy. And Silver Cup Studios and Long Island Studio are both really great."
Lively can also now be seen on the big screen in "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2."
